Hi, my name is Rourke Stubna. I am an illustrator and designer based in Kent, Ohio. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and I am currently pursuing a master’s in Visual Communication Design at Kent State University. This mix of disciplines gives me a research-driven approach to my creative work, and I like to treat most of my projects as a case study. I gather visual references, study trends, and build a clear direction before I start sketching.

Much of my inspiration comes from nature, pop culture, and campy horror. I bring that style into branding, editorial design, and product illustration when it feels right. I aim to make work that is thoughtful and intentional while still showing personality and a little bit of fun.
